lyrics
Standing on the edge of, standing on the edge of time
Losing it all just to build it back up, relentless minds
A blessing nor a curse, harmoniously on a roll
Descendants of Cimmerians, through the night our blood runs strong
Down far below the surface, down to the underground
Become the dirt you swallow, no gods around now
A blessing nor a curse, harmoniously on a roll
Descendants of Cimmerians, through the night our blood runs strong
The eyes of our fathers burned in our skull
Ready to suffer black lungs
Standing on the edge of, standing on the edge of time
Losing it all just to build it back up, relentless minds
The eyes of our fathers, burned in our skull
Ready to suffer, black lungs
Down far below the surface, down to the underground
Become the dirt you swallow, no gods around
As we prepare ourselves spiritually, physically, and mentally for Sunnata’s upcoming Chasing Shadows, it is as good a time as any to reflect upon the band’s incredible discography, which stands as one of the finest in all of sludge/ stoner, and even (modern) doom for that matter. Zorya is probably Sunnata’s heaviest album and though it is a smidgen less dynamic than Outlands, it is the best entry point for new listeners who want to know what’s what. Perfect soundtrack for steamrolling your foes. Ippocalyptica
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
...wandering into a wooded night, the sky flashes unearthly bright, silhouette of an enormous, antlered figure. Your ears may not translate Outlands' building, tribal sounds that coalesce from chants, guitar building from meditative to Earth-shattering riffs, eternal grooves, and a general sense of mysticism, into my own ocular imaginings. You may not see the sky crack open when Szymon Ewertowski and Adrian Gadomski sing that last, guttural "Higher!" Music is subjective. Outlands is incredible. Nicholasw
